Five Tablescapes To Inspire You For Rosh Hashanah

The High Holy Days are quickly coming, and if you are like me, you are probably already planning your Rosh Hashanah celebration. I happen to adore Rosh Hashanah and consider it to be one of my favorite holidays. What isn’t to love about celebrating a sweet New Year? Because the symbols of apples and honey feature so predominantly in celebrating this auspicious event, I usually feature them throughout my menu and my table decor. Here are five ways you can bring the elements of apples and honey into your own home. (Above image via Style Me Pretty)

1. Apples & Flowers.

Here is my table from last year’s Rosh Hashanah dinner. I thought it would be fun to play with the colors of red and yellow to create a bright and rustic tablescape. My husband made the yellow boxes which were filled with flowers and apples. The honey was represented by the vintage honeycomb glasses, and then each person received a beautiful red apple with their names in gold as a seating card. (via The Glamorous Housewife)

2. Red Apple Glamour.

If you would like a more glamorous table you could continue with the red apple inspiration and use them at the bottom of glass containers combined with rose petals. This serves as the base for the rest of the roses, greenery, and fruit, which spills abundantly down the sides. (via The Wedding Queen)

3. Apples & Water.

For a more simple use of apples you could just float them in pretty bowls or large vases. If your bowl is wide enough you could add a few blossoms to delicately drift amongst the fruit. This can look especially elegant if you add candles to your table because the light glistens on the reflection of the water. (via Pinterest)

4. All About the Honey.

If you would prefer to just use honey as your Rosh Hashanah inspiration as I did here two years ago, there are quite a few options. I found a honeycomb and bee stamp online and used them to create these napkin rings/place tags. I also added vintage honey pots I collect to the table to give it a whimsical and eclectic touch. 5. When in Doubt, Use Mason Jars.

If you are having a large dinner and don’t want to spend too much money on your decorations, I thought these mason jars covered in lace and twine were a beautiful and inexpensive way to add a bit of flair. It gives a warm, family-friendly feeling to your table. Then place a small pot of honey on each plate for your guests to dip their apple slices. Very chic! (via Elizabeth Anne Designs)

I hope one of these gorgeous tablescapes inspires you to decorate your Rosh Hashanah table using the symbols of apples and honey this year. Which one is your favorite?
