Mother Bakes Vagina Cookies for Daughter’s 2nd Grade Class, Feuds With Teacher

Granted, it probably won’t cause lasting harm if your kid views a Georgia O’Keefe painting, sees you walk around naked, or overhears Joan Rivers telling a vagina joke. But it seems one mama took anatomical pride a bit too far when she brought vagina-shaped cookies to her child’s 2nd grade classroom, suggesting a vagina-themed lesson to go with them.

According to a Reddit poster, who was repeating the story for her friend, the teacher, parents were invited bring in hypoallergenic snacks on Fridays as an occasional treat.

Here’s how it went down:

So Friday rolls around and the kids are excited. Autumn Lily Speaker comes into the classroom with a pan full of treats and brings them to me and says with a smile “I decided you can use these to teach the kids about the woman’s vagina today”. Baffled and completely caught off guard I slowly peel the aluminum foil off the pan to behold a plethora of sugar cookie and frosting vaginas. Not just any old vagina, but ALL KINDS OF VAGINAS.

When the teacher politely told the mother that the cookies were not appropriate for kids, things escalated quickly. The mom allegedly launched into a furious tirade accusing the teacher of not being sufficiently proud of her vagina and stormed out. The teacher scraped the offending icing off and served the kids plain sugar cookies. The text messages from the parent that followed are pretty disturbing and can be viewed here.

Any thoughts on this craziness? Is this feminism? Or is this mom clearly just insane?

According to the update on the Reddit post, the mom ended up moving her child to private school as promised, and was banned from the school premises. Also, the cookies tasted pretty good without the offending icing. Unfortunately no one got photos of the cookies, but we can all use our imaginations.
