Must-Have (Cute!) Items for Rosh Hashanah 2012

By at 5:04 pm

In case you haven’t noticed, Rosh Hashanah and the rest of those High Holidays are coming up very, very quickly (September 16th, to be exact). If you’re hosting a family get together or just want to spruce up your home decor in time for the New Year, there are plenty of goodies that will do the trick. We’ve teamed up with our favorite Judaica shop, Modern Tribe, to bring you the best Rosh Hashanah gear around. Best of all: Part of every purchase goes to support Kveller.

Challah Time

One thing that makes Rosh Hashanah special is that even the challah gets a little jazzed up–it’s customary to eat round challah to represent the cycle of the year and the circle of life and all that good stuff. If you’d like to display your round challah in style, check out this beautiful wood tray:

If you’re thinking that a nice set of candlesticks would look great with that challah–you’re right. These Botanical Leaf Candleholders would add a lovely touch.

Apples & Honey

You won’t get very far in your Rosh Hashanah preparation before running into the classic pairing of apples and honey. Share your favorite honey in this gorgeous glass honey bowl (and you can even get a matching serving plate).

Pretty in Pomegranate

Pomegranates are a symbol for fertility and abundance, making them a common New Year’s motif. We love these matching pomegranate tea towels and apron, both made in Israel and perfect for the Rosh Hasnahah chef.

Fun Stuff

We admit, most of these goodies are for the adults of the group, but we wouldn’t want to totally leave out the kids, would we? Keep little ones happy and occupied with this plush Rosh Hashanah set, featuring soft candlesticks, an apple, a kiddush cup, and a non-noise-making shofar that won’t drive you crazy.
