Looking for something pretty and unique to add to your jewelry collection? We’re very excited to give away this beautiful necklace from Jewish artist (and mother) Michal Lando.
Michal Lando is a New York based artist that has roots in Israel and Europe. She began her line of jewelry after falling in love with nylon mesh, a supple, dramatic, and incredibly lightweight material that holds endless possibilities. All her pieces are handmade and many of them are one of a kind.

Last month, we co-sponsored the launch of The Purim Superhero by Elizabeth Kushner, winner of Keshet’s National Book-Writing Contest. The picture book is the first ever LGBT-inclusive Jewish kids’ book published in English, and it tells the super cute story of a little boy named Nate.

Hello, Kveller readers and would-be readers! Fresh off of our book club chat about Katie Roiphe’s In Praise of Messy Lives comes our announcement for next month’s book club pick: we’ll be delving back into literary fiction and reading The World Without You, by novelist Joshua Henkin.
Yes, yes, we know what you’re thinking: the only rule of the Kveller Book Club was that we only read books by Jewish women, and as you may have guessed, Joshua Henkin is not, in fact, a woman. But, The World Without You is heavily female focused–starring three sisters, a widow, a mother, and a grandmother. And, well, what are rules if not meant to be broken?
Set over Fourth of July weekend in 2005, the novel witnesses a family gathering in the Berkshires to remember Leo, a son and brother who was killed one year before in Iraq. Read the rest of this entry →

Tummy time has proven to be a great technique to help babies develop muscles and achieve gross motor skills. The only problem? Most babies just don’t like it. Robin Tacchetti, a Jewish mother of three and a physical therapist, has invented a great item called The Biddy Belly to help encourage more happy tummy time.
The Biddy Belly not only helps take away the frustration of tummy time, but it is also cute and fun to play with. This tummy time mat is shaped like a giraffe and has many features for the baby to interact with including a “crinkle material” nose, a squeak and horn ears, and toys hanging off the side of the giraffes neck.
