Mazel tov, Randi! The CEO, media maven, author, and member of Facebook royalty gave birth to her second child, a baby boy, on Friday, October 10th.
The name, you ask? Get excited. It’s super Jewy!
Simcha “Simi” Tworetsky is apparently already living up to his name, which is Hebrew for joy. Randi tells People, “[He's] bringing so much joy to our family. We are in love and so thankful for this new addition.” Simcha joins big brother Asher, who is 3. Read the rest of this entry →
We would like to take a minute to wish a hearty Mazel Tov to Kveller contributors Tamar Fox and Jesse Bacon on the arrival of a beautiful 1-month-old baby girl.
Tamar has written on Kveller about her and Jesse’s plans to become foster parents, and on Friday, August 1, they got the long-awaited phone call. The family is not sharing baby’s English name for privacy reasons, but her Hebrew name is Dafna Penina. Little Dafna spent her first month in the NICU, but now she is happy and healthy (she even slept seven hours through her second night with her new parents).
Stay tuned to get the full story once things calm down a little.
We are thrilled to announce that our resident Torah MOMentatorAlicia Jo Rabins gave birth to a baby boy last week (much to the delight of big sister Sylvie). Elijah Wilder Hartman was born at 8:05 a.m. on Thursday, August 7, weighing 7.7 pounds and 2 ounces.
We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Kveller contributer Melissa Langsam Braunstein’s second daughter, Annabelle Ileana Braunstein. Annabelle was born on July 26 at 12:34 p.m., weighing 7 pounds, 8 ounces, and measuring 20 inches long. She is healthy and the Braunstein clan say they are all smitten with her–especially proud big sister Lila.
We are so happy to report that the latest Kveller baby has arrived! Huge congratulations to contributing editor Tamara Reese on the birth of Campbell Nichole!
Campbell was born this morning at 6:26 a.m. at 7lbs 8oz. and mom and baby are doing great! And we’re not just saying this because we have to–how super amazing does Tam look? We are sure big brothers Owen and Gillen are super excited (and maybe a little bit scared?) about having a new baby sister around, and we can’t wait to hear the updates.
Please join us wishing Tamara and the whole family a huge mazel tov.
It is with the utmost auntie pride that I announce the birth of my new nephew, Riley Isaac Tolsky, born on January 25th in cold, snowy Chicago. Mom, Dad, and baby are all doing great. And as Kveller’s resident childless aunt, you can bet my heart’s working in overdrive, having just welcomed another nephew last September.
I haven’t had a chance to meet Riley yet, but I’ve got a good feeling about him: he’s named after both of my amazing grandfathers who recently passed away, so with their legacies in mind, he’s off to a great start. Besides, he’s got an incredibly sweet big sister to help him along… Read the rest of this entry →
We here at Kveller are over the moon to report the birth of contributing editor Jordana Horn’s fifth child, a healthy baby girl named Aliza Madeline. Mom and baby are doing great (though one of them might be kind of tired).
If it seems like Jordana was just giving birth this time last year, well, she was, which means she’s now the proud mom of three kids under three. You can bet we’ll be hearing about that.
Sorry, no baby photos, but hey, here’s how I’m feeling right now.
It warms my childless auntie heart to announce the birth of my new nephew, Richard Xu Mei Tolsky, who came into this world on September 28th in… wait for it… China! Dalian, China to be exact, where my brother moved to teach English and then promptly met the love of his life, got married, and got busy. And I thought having a niece in Chicago was hard.
Mom and baby are doing great, and after a good phone call with my brother, I think it’s safe to say this is the happiest he’s ever been. There is, of course, one problem, which is that he doesn’t want any pictures of his baby on Facebook (the horror!) which is making it especially hard on some of the extended family members who want to kvell over the new addition (I’m looking at you, Bubbe).
I’d also like to point out that I’ve never known the power of naming a baby after a deceased relative until my brother said his name was Richard, the name of our incredible grandfather who passed away last year. I’m so happy to have another Richard in my life, especially one with such a kickass middle initial.
We are beyond thrilled to introduce you to the newest member of the Kveller family, Mischa Jade Wolper.
Emily Wolper has been blogging for us over the past year about her decision to become a single mother by choice and the journey it took to get there–from choosing the sperm donor to dating to IVF. We’re so happy that it all ended up with the birth of a beautiful baby girl at 9 lbs, 6 oz, and 21″ long.
We’re so happy for Emily and Mischa. Now the real journey begins!
