Facebook found Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan just made a big announcement on (no surprise) Facebook: They’re expecting a baby girl! A major CEO and a baby–will he be able to have it all? We have to say–they’re going to make a dynamic parenting duo–Chan is a doctor and educator, and Zuckerberg is basically the founder of social media as we know it. This is going to be one interesting childhood, to say the least.
In the midst of their happy announcement, Zuckerberg and Chan mentioned having experienced three miscarriages along the way, commenting on the difficulty of discussing miscarriage, stating, “It’s a lonely experience. Most people don’t discuss miscarriages because you worry your problems will distance you or reflect upon you.”
Yet, the couple’s optimism for the future cannot be dimmed–they embrace technology as a means to connect people through their varied experiences, saying, “discussing these issues doesn’t distance us; it brings us together. It creates understanding and tolerance, and it gives us hope.”
While we’re sure Zuckerberg is going to be a great dad (his sister Randi already reassured us), we can’t help but wonder if the baby is going to get her own Facebook profile. Maybe she’ll finally create that much desired and anticipated “dislike” button.
