Israeli Photographer Imagines the Lives of Biblical Women in Stunning Pictures

We all love looking at gorgeous photos–it’s a way for us to momentarily escape reality, even for just a second. This is why we absolutely love Dikla Laor‘s photographs of biblical Jewish women from the bible. Laor reinterprets the lives of women, like Deborah and Jezebel, and brings them to life in stunning photographs.

On Laor’s Facebook page, she explains how she lives to reinvent myths and bible stories, and uses her camera lens as a way to explore different worlds and realities. She states, “I love to photograph women. For me a woman is the essence of existence, who is containing, has all the beauty and procreation, childishness, femininity and maternity.”

The Israeli mom of three explores motherhood and womanhood in these portraits in a way that exemplifies strength and independence–and what’s not to love about that? Check some of our favorites out below:
