Interested in Jewish meditative practices but don't know where to start? Wondering what makes meditation "Jewish meditation differs from Eastern/Buddhist/Hindu and western/Christian/contemplative forms? What about how they parallel each other? Please join us as we explore several different traditionally Jewish meditative practices. Our text will be Aryeh Kaplan's classic Jewish Meditation, which can be ordered here: The tentative structure for the gatherings will be approximately 30 min of discussion, based upon the readings. We will then engage in a specific practice(s) as described in the book, followed by reflection/sharing of our experiences during the practice. Participants are encouraged to have read and, if possible, practiced the given technique in advance so that we can share and discuss our experiences of that particular practice as it has been unfolding in our lives.
