Have you ever wondered how to host a Passover seder, even though you never grew up attending one? Have you wanted to learn more about Passover, so you can feel more comfortable participating in the holiday and explaining it to your children? The Mothers Circle, a series of free programs for women of other religious backgrounds raising Jewish children within the context of intermarriage, is excited to introduce a special one-time class called Seder Survival Guide. This unique prep class is a free, fun, and interactive session that will prepare (grand-) parents who are new to Judaism to celebrate Passover in a meaning¬ful way with their families. Hosted by TEMPLE SHOLOM on MARCH 14 from 7:00 – 9:00 pm, the class welcomes (grand-) parents from throughout North-East Queens.

Through hands-on activities and stimulating discussion, participants will explore the “how-tos” and purpose behind the various Passover rituals; examine some of the elements of the Passover seder; and learn the “dos and don’ts” of Passover food! Participants will also discover ways to answer their children’s questions and discuss some of the intricacies of participating in—or even hosting!—a Jewish holiday celebration when you yourself are not Jewish.
