Pride and Joy: A Guide to Understanding Your Child’s Emotions and Solving Family Problems

Bet Torah Nursery School Parent Education Committee is pleased to announce that we will be hosting Dr. Kenneth Barish, Ph.D. on Thursday, February 7 at 7:30pm. He will be discussing his newly published parenting book, Pride and Joy: A Guide to Understanding Your Child’s Emotions and Solving Family Problems.

In Pride and Joy, child psychologist Kenneth Barish brings together the best of recent advances in clinical and neuroscience research with the author’s three decades of experience working with children and families. He shows how a deeper appreciation of children’s emotions offers parents a new understanding of their children’s development - and better solutions to the problems in their lives.

In addition to having a private practice in Westchester, Dr. Barish is a Clinical Associate Professor of Psychology, Weill Medical School, Cornell University and faculty member of the William Alanson White Institute Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Training Program and faculty member of the Westchester Center for the Study of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy.

Bet Torah (www.bettorah.org) serves as a leading center for Conservative Judaism in Northern Westchester.
