Mayim Bialik and LL Cool J Came Together for This Cause

mayim

Mayim Bialik and LL Cool J together at last. Yes, you read that properly. Mayim and LL did a PSA together. Not a pairing you normally think of together. And even better, they are Christmas-and-Hanukkah-themed PSAs, which aired nationally starting November 27th.

Recently, the “I Have A Dream” Foundation (IHDF) and CBS Cares have joined forces to create a public service campaign that focuses on educational support and mentoring for young students in low-income areas. But these aren’t dry, boring videos. They’re actually pretty fun. And right in time for Hanukkah.

Josie Thomas, Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer at CBS Corporation, stated the mission is to provide support:

“The ‘I Have A Dream’ Foundation impacts diversity and education, two top priorities for the CBS Corporation. This collaboration is an opportunity that will help increase awareness and further the Foundation’s crucial mission of providing long-term support programs aimed at increasing high school graduation and college completion for students in under-resourced public schools.”

Every student in the IHDF program receives guaranteed tuition assistance for higher education, as well as continued emotional and academic support. Since 1981, the programs have operated in 28 states, Washington, D.C., and New Zealand.

And besides all of the obvious reasons to love these PSAs (because everyone deserves a supportive and fruitful education), we honestly love the fact the campaign is inclusive and diverse, bringing together people of different faiths and cultures under one cause. Because really, we’re all the same at the end of the day.
