Remember Ezra? The little boy I met through The Gift of Life who needs a bone marrow match? And remember I did a whole Miracle Match campaign with The Maccabeats to raise money to process cheek-swab kits and encourage people to get swabbed and become registered as donors?
Sadly, Ezra has not found a match…
However! Peter Yarrow (as in Peter, Paul, and Mary) recently learned about Ezra and is holding a benefit concert on behalf of Ezra and The Gift of Life. I happen to be a huge fan of Peter, Paul, and Mary and I am clearly a huge fan of Ezra so this is a win-win event, am I right!?
Please support this wonderful cause and visit www.makesomemiracles.com for more information about how you can get involved and possibly be the match that literally saves someone’s life.

And how taking active steps to not “just” make the holidays about the consumerism and the gifts reminds us and shows our children that giving is the true spirit of the holiday season. Mayim & Ezra from a visit last year.
I am emceeing the gala dinner for The Gift of Life Bone Marrow Foundation tonight in Manhattan. The Yeshiva University Maccabeats are being honored, but that’s not why I was chosen as the emcee. Check out the real reason.
I have written about Ezra here before. I just saw him this past Monday.
Ezra is a 3-year-old, sweet, talkative, and gentle boy from New Jersey who I met about a year ago. His family was searching for a bone marrow match for him through The Gift of Life because of an immune disorder he has. A match for Ezra would essentially mean a life-saving new immune system and a healthy life. The Gift of Life heard I was staying near Ezra’s hometown and asked me to put a public face on him and The Gift of Life’s mission. Read the rest of this entry →
