I went to a Creativity and Innovators Summit at the White House last Friday held in the Executive Office building. Bill Prady went with me. He created The Big Bang Theory and is our executive producer. Johnny Galecki was there, too. So were Tim Daly and Richard Kind and a bunch of really intelligent movers and shakers.
I cried when my car pulled up to the entrance. My grandparents arrived to this country on a dingy boat fleeing pogroms and the Holocaust. How did I end up at the White House? And why couldn’t they still be alive to have me tell them all about it?

One boat, One Shabbat, One Mayim, 500 Jews.
I spent my first night away from my 3 1/2-year-old ever this past Friday night. How does Mayim Bialik spend a night away, you may ask? Maybe in Vegas? Or a girls’ weekend at the spa? Fred and I on a mining tour!
We took a family road trip and got home last night. Me, the husband, the 6-year-old (Miles), and the 3 1/2-year-old (Fred). Four nights in and around Tucson including the ghost towns of Tombstone and Bisbee and a “guest ranch” in the Saguaro National Forest.
It was kind of the vacation from H-E-double-hockey-sticks. Here’s why we should’ve stayed home and “had a picnic in the bathtub” as Bob Dylan famously suggested when his family adventure went sour (“Talkin’ Bear Mountain Picnic Massacre Blues“). Read the rest of this entry →
