Natalie Portman Welcomes Second Child (And Her Name Is Hebrew!)

February was a big month for Natalie Portman and her husband Benjamin Millepied, considering she was nominated for an Oscar, and oh, yeah gave birth to her second child and daughter on February 22 (but only just announced it, sneaky!). She named her child Amalia (which is Hebrew meaning “work of God”).

35-year-old Portman and Millepied are already parents to their 5-year-old son Aleph.I love how her children’s names sounds together–Aleph and Amalia. The couple met on the set of “Black Swan,” which netted Portman her Oscar. Millepied was the choreographer and a dancer on the set. A few months ago, funnily enough, Portman bet Ellen DeGeneres that her second child wouldn’t be a girl–it seems she was wrong. The actress also told Jimmy Fallon that everyone thought she was going to pop months ago:

“It was early. I thought everyone would know because I wasn’t drinking. … It’s weird because I’m a small person in general, so you show a lot faster and a lot more when you’re small. Everyone thinks I’m about to pop and about to give birth any minute, and I have months to go.”

Let’s also not forget how gorgeous she looked in Vanity Fair‘s photo shoot, where she appeared semi-nude and pregnant. She definitely makes motherhood look good. In 2016, she wrote about motherhood in her emails to Jewish writer Jonathan Safran Foer, excerpts of which were published in The New York Times, stating:

Mazel tov to the happy family!
