Sarah Silverman Is Going to Host a Badass Political Comedy Talk Show

Sarah Silverman, one of my favorite comedians, is about to get really political. She’s going to host a weekly 30 minute talk show called “I Love You, America” produced by Funny Or Die and streamed by Hulu, according to Deadline. The show is slated to air 10 episodes.

That’s not it, however. The Jewish comedian is also going to be the executive producer on the show along with Will Ferrell and Adam McKay. A source told Deadline that Silverman is perfect for being a talk show host with a political beat:

“From inciting treason to telling poop jokes, Sarah Silverman often has been a lightning rod for heated online debate. While she has been open about her political convictions and, like many of her colleagues, has spoken out against President Donald Trump and his policies, the new program is designed to be balanced, with her looking to connect with people who may not agree with her personal opinions through honesty, humor, genuine interest in others, and not taking herself too seriously.”

Recently, Silverman has opened up about Donald Trump and current events–and told The New Yorker why patriotism makes her uncomfortable (“I love America, but not above all other places”):

Silverman called Trump “the whitehead the GOP has been growing for decades,” and said that he is a mirror of our society. Notably, it’s surreal to see how Silverman, speaking before the election, thought there was a small chance Trump would be elected.

While it’s still a secret on when the show airs, I know I’ll be sure to tune in once it does–it couldn’t be more timely. Silverman also had a new stand-up special  coming out on Netflix on May 30, so stay tuned for that.
