Need to get out of your house on Friday evening or Saturday morning? Want to introduce your little one to Shabbat while you’re at it? Consider checking out a Tot Shabbat in your area. Most of these fun, casual sessions include singing, dancing, story time, and, of course, challah and grape juice. Because who doesn’t love challah and grape juice? Description: Our program is developed and run by a dynamic Judaic Studies teacher and is geared towards early childhood participants. The enthusiastic and peace-driven Tot Shabbat service follows the traditional arc of Shabbat morning prayers and focuses on thankfulness, Hebrew calendar awareness, and the gifts of Shabbat. Including lively songs, sensory activities, a read-aloud, and a modest “tot kiddush”, the children are directly engaged and involved in Jewish customs and language acquisition.
