Shalom Sesame t-shirt ($26)
It’s hard enough to fathom that Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away, but this year’s holiday calendar is relentless–only a handful of days later and Hanukkah begins at sundown on December 1st. This means that while you’re mentally preparing for the sensory overload that is Turkey Day, you might also want to start stocking up on eight nights worth of presents for the little ones. Our friends over at Modern Tribe have some great offerings this year, including the Kosher Piggy Gift Set ($39) that features an autographed copy of the hit book, Baxter the Kosher Pig, by Kveller contributer Laurel Snyder. Along with the book comes an awesome t-shirt and coloring page.
Also from Modern Tribe are brand new Shalom Sesame t-shirts ($26), which make me really angry that they don’t come in adult sizes, but I’m willing to overlook that mistake because they are just that cute. An Elmo mensch, a Cookie Monster noshing on rugelach, a kvetching Oscar the Grouch… Jewish children’s fashion does not get better.
Speaking of Shalom Sesame, they’ve got two new DVD’s ($14.95 each) out just in time for Hanukkah. Follow all your favorite Sesame Street residents along with special guest stars like Jake Gyllenhaal, Debra Messing, and Ben Stiller, as they explore Israel and celebrate Hanukkah in the Holy Land.

or a new spin on a classic toy, check out the Alef Bet Blocks ($37) from Lindenwood. The set of 27 blocks with Hebrew letters and animal pictures on each has all the vintage charm of the simple block with the added advantage of teaching your child a fun new alphabet.
And since eight big presents is asking a lot, fill in some of the nights with little trinkets like this Dreidel Slinky ($3.00) or a Bubble Dreidel ($1.50)—not to be confused with your Bubbe’s dreidel–both from The Jewish Museum Shop.
