Six13’s ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ Parody Is a Shining Hanukkah Hit

The Jewish a cappella group brought their brightest selves to this one.

We knew this was going to be the year of “KPop Demon Hunters” Hanukkah parodies. The animated Netflix film is such a hit, and its songs are all still playing on loop in our heads, almost half a year after the movie’s release.

The Maccabeats already gave us their animated medley of the film’s greatest hits, and now Six13 brings us theirs! It’s a really delightful video with all our favorite things about Hanukkah parodies: dancing, singing, frying and spinning dreidels in Hanukkah sweaters and pajamas! And there are so many excellent KPop touches, from “Soda Pop” choreography, to rapping, to snacking on (kosher, of course!) instant noodles, to purple hair and sequined jackets that channel HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys.

The group has covered what I believe most of us consider the two biggest hits from “KPop Demon Hunters”: “Golden” and “Soda Pop.” They’ve turned the latter into a song about “My Little Spinning Top,” and they took to Times Square to share their best moves. Their “Golden” medley is about the golden glimmer of the Festival of Lights and at the end of the song, they remind us: “We’re Jewish, proud and free.”

The group definitely brought their full, shining golden selves to this parody! We love it.
