Lior Raz changed the face of Israeli TV when he and Avi Issacharoff co-created “Fauda,” a thriller series about undercover Israeli operatives. Now, Raz is exploring new frontiers on Netflix with a show titled “Off Road.”
The title is quite literal; the show, co-created by Raz, Issacharoff, and Rotem Sela (Raz’s best friend), is a road trip reality adventure in which Raz and Sela travel together to Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan in a 4×4. It’s a trip that challenges their personal beliefs and their friendship, and the show is sure to capture our attention.
Sela and Raz have starred together in numerous projects, including the excellent “A Body That Works” which is currently streaming on Netflix. The two are some of the biggest names in Israel and are politically vocal as well as talented. They’re both parents; Sela has three children with husband Ariel Rotter, Raz has four with his wife Meital Barda.
In the six episode series, along with a therapist that accompanies them on their journey, the two get deep and personal about fame, money and so much more.
“An off-road journey has always been a dream of ours — and we couldn’t have imagined one more challenging, emotional, and unexpectedly full of laughter,” Raz shared with Variety. Sela said that despite the fact that the show tested their friendship it ultimately shows how powerful their bond is.
“Off Road” is premiering globally on Netflix on July 10. We can’t wait.
