Life with triplets is definitely not easy. It means that you’re outnumbered, which is definitely not fun. Jake White, a dad in Ohio, knows this only too well–especially when he’s driving his three bundles of joy around. This is why he needed to come of with a solution to keep them from going crazy in the car.
He posted about his problem–and solution–on Facebook. His hack is kind of genius:
“Stella, Jude, and Xavier, our 2-year-olds, were stealing each other’s snacks and water bottles. So, to me it was clear they needed some personal space.”
White ended up partitioning the three car seats with large pieces of foam core and proceeded, so the 2-year-olds wouldn’t scream at each other. Many have since applauded him over social media for his fix, which he calls “logical.” He wrote:
“It is a good idea, and it works! Car rides are peaceful when the dividers are in, and quite the opposite without them.
I have a background in fine art and emergency medicine. So it’s natural for me to combine safety, creativity, and obviously peace when it comes to raising triplets.” White said clever problem-solving helps him and his wife, who is studying to be a nurse practitioner, to “make more time in your day for the learning and laughter.
I’m always using creative solutions. You have to when you are outnumbered. I am lucky to be able to hang out with the coolest kids. They make me laugh all day long with their willingness to go along with all of this dad’s ideas.”
We love his creativity–and we’re sure he loves the silence, even if it only lasts for a few minutes.
