The Little Red Hen and the Passover Matzah By Leslie Kimmelman

Buy This Book

A wonderful retelling of a story we all know. The Little Red Hen works while her lazy friends–dog, horse, and sheep–are resting. Nobody will help her to grow her wheat, grind her flour, or make her matzah, and she’s not happy about the situation ( “Oy Gevalt!“). But in the end she remembers (quoting the Passover Haggadah) to “Let all who are hungry come and eat.” I like that she lets herself get angry, even though she forgives in the end. I also like that the book includes a really easy matzah recipe that kids can handle.
