Drake is a Jewish Dad

Meet Drake: Canadian rapper, former child star, Jewish dad.

That’s right: After rumors started swirling, thanks to fellow rapper Pusha T, that he had secretly fathered a child with adult film star Sophie Brussaux, Drake addressed the controversy the only way he knew how — by rapping about it in his latest album, “Scorpion.”

And it turns out, the rumors were true. He first broaches the subject on the album’s fourth track, “Emotionless,” where he raps:

Look at the way we live/I wasn’t hiding my kid from the world/I was hiding the world from my kid/From empty souls who just wake up and look to debate/Until you’re starin’ at your seed, you could never relate.

On a later track, he talks about his struggle as a single father, saying:

It’s breakin’ my spirit/Single father, I hate when I hear it/I used to challenge my parents on every album/Now I’m embarrassed to tell ’em I ended up as a co-parent/Always promised a family unit/I wanted it to be different because I been through it/But this is the harsh truth now/Fairy tales are saved for the bedtime stories I tell you now.

Drake was raised by a single parent himself, and he is famously close with his Jewish mother, Sandi Graham. He’s also a proud member of the tribe, and threw himself a bar mitzvah-themed birthday party when he turned 31 last year.

We’re just happy we can now add him to our list of the hottest Jewish celebrity dads.
