Iris Apfel Designed a Jewelry Collection for Tim Burton’s New Film & It’s Gorgeous

Fashion icon Iris Apfel is anything but ordinary. The Jewish designer has been changing the rules and landscape of fashion for over 60 years. Clearly, she knows a thing or two. Her eclectic style also makes her the perfect person to design a new fashion line based off of Tim Burton’s new film “Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children.” Her new line is aptly named “Miss Peregrine Collection.”

As a fan of Burton’s work, the 95-year-old designer was extremely excited about the collaboration and told PEOPLE how she was approached to do the collection by HSN, the home of her accessory line.

Apfel described why this project was something she couldn’t pass up:

“The concept for the movie aligns well with my personal perspective on style and life in general. I am a big fan of Tim Burton and his work and couldn’t pass up an opportunity to be a part of a project of his that celebrates individuality.”

The film is based on the popular novel of the same name, “Miss Peregrine,” which focuses on a group of children with special and unique abilities–clearly something Apfel could relate to. She stated:

“Peculiarities should be celebrated and fostered! What’s the harm in being different? The capsule collection inspires us to celebrate our own unique sensibilities. I love creating pieces that don’t have to conform to traditional style; this collection allowed me to design in a space I enjoy most—individuality and uniqueness.”

Here’s a few more of my favorites from the collection:
