This Really Fun and Super Jewish Comedy Special Is Available to Stream For Free

Thank you to lawyer-turned-comedian Liz Glazer for giving us a reason to laugh.

Rumor has it you might need a laugh. I don’t know why; it’s not like there’s anything dramatic happening in the world. (Check out our partner site JTA if you want an update on said dramatic things).

Over here, we’ve got some good news. This month, Jewish comedian Liz Glazer released her first comedy special for free on YouTube, and it just might help you release some much-needed endorphins so your body doesn’t feel like a tight rubber band ball of nerves.

In “Liz Glazer: Do You Know Who I’m Not,” Glazer, a lawyer by original trade, shares delightful tidbits from her life and walks us through her hilarious and somewhat unhinged journey from law school professor to stand-up comic.

So much of the special is also about her Jewish family. She talks about being a descendant of four Holocaust survivors (four out of four, a perfect score!) and about her Jewish mom’s love for returning things, passed down l’dor v’dor. She jokes about her Jewish education and being married to a rabbi named Karen (her wife is a rabbi at Short Hills’ Temple B’nai Jeshurun). She shares funny tidbits about modern parenting and the copywriting art behind daycare updates, what it’s like being Jewish and gay and performing comedy in Alabama, and how she loves seeing her therapist of 18 years (“therapy is a party and the theme is me” she jokes, and truly it’s a pretty great ad for mental healthcare).

It’s a very Jewish and very relatable special that even manages to make a really funny and uncontroversial joke about the Israel-Hamas War — a pretty impressive feat.

You can watch the entire special below. You’re welcome.
