Meet Naomi Fry: Pop Culture Vulture & Mom Extraordinaire

naomi

Naomi Fry has had a fascinating career path which boasts serving as a fact checker for US Weekly and teaching James Franco, among other accomplishments. She was born and raised in Israel, but has long been obsessed with American pop culture and successfully turned her childhood interest into a fruitful writing career. Now, Naomi is a staff writer for The New Yorker where she focuses on the intersection of high and low brow culture in America.

In this week’s episode of Call Your Mother, Jordana Horn and Shannon Sarna talk in depth with Naomi about Jared Kushner’s trouble with doors, how America has taken a page politically from Israel in recent years, and how becoming a parent actually helped catapult her writing career.

Don’t forget to stay tuned for Jordana’s mom, who shares her insight into whether it’s appropriate to give gifts to teachers and when. And Shannon shares her new obsession with hygge, whatever that is. Go listen to learn more. Download, and don’t forget to tell your friends, too.
