– Vladimir Putin signed Russian legislation that bans the adoption of Russian children by Americans, effectively severing the adoption process of hundreds of families and children. Putin was acting in retribution for a new American law designed to punish human rights abuses in Russia. (NY Times)
– A new study in the journal Pediatrics has found that children are being bullied for things like food allergies and obesity, and that parents and gym teachers often contribute to the bullying of overweight children, thinking they might “motivate” the child to change. (Boston Globe)
– Chick-fil-A, which was in the news earlier this year when its CEO made hateful homophobic comments, has now come out with a re-release of a children’s book, The Jolly Barnyard, that tries to brand the fast food company with happy images of farms and animals. (Salon)
– A new study from the American Academy of Pediatrics says that boys are entering puberty six months to two years earlier than they did in past studies. (NPR)
