Seth Rogen Is Throwing a Bar Mitzvah for James Franco & You’re Invited

James Franco and Seth Rogen

If you didn’t think James Franco could get any weirder or encroach into new territory, think again. Best friend Seth Rogen, and Rogen’s wife Lauren Miller Rogen, are throwing him a party–actually, get this–a bar mitzvah, according to Entertainment Weekly. Even better? You’re invited.

So, when will this literal earth-shattering event happen? Sponsored by Rogen’s own organization Hilarity for Charity, Franco’s foray into Jewish adulthood will take place in Los Angeles on October 17th at the Hollywood Palladium–tickets available here (please, no fighting over them).

Apparently, Franco’s been dreaming of becoming a (Jewish) man for a long time, according to Rogen, who told Variety: “We’re excited to see him finally become a man while also helping us raise awareness and funds for people living with Alzheimer’s and towards research that will lead to a cure. And in celebration we’ll also have a mohel and a live bris for James at the event.”

Like past Hilarity for Charity events, the ceremony will feature a cast of famous comedians with all proceeds from ticket sales going to fund the fight against Alzheimer’s disease. Regardless of how you feel about Franco’s intentions, the outcome is nothing but stellar.

We’ll definitely be interested to see how well Franco reads from the Torah, and if a bris really does occur.
