Like many people, I absolutely loved modern YA classic “A Wrinkle In Time” when I first read it in elementary school. As an incredibly nerdy, super shy tween, I completely related to Meg Murry–because she seemed just like me.
This is why I’m so excited for the fact that there is a movie based off Madeleine L’Engle’s book, directed by Ava DuVernay, and featuring Oprah–and the trailer is finally here. Along with Oprah, the cast is made up of stars like Reese Witherspoon, and Mindy Kaling. As of now, it’s set for release in March 2018.
As Vox points out, DuVernay is “the first African-American woman to direct a movie with a budget over $100 million.”
Here are some of my favorite highlights from the trailer:
OPRAH. Oprah’s whole aesthetic and ensemble.
Did I mention Oprah?
Storm Reid absolutely kills it as Meg Murry–and in glasses!
“Be a warrior.”
