This Hebrew Song Celebrates Women Who Lead

When it comes to powerful women, we need to celebrate them more. This is why we want to highlight a new video we think you might like. It features a new song by Franciska Kay called “Shiru L’Hashem” (Sing to God). And get this: It’s a song about the biblical Miriam, the older sister of Moses, who was said to have led women in song while the Israelites were leaving Egypt. Kay said she wrote the song “to bring honor and dedication to all the past, present & future female leaders of our nation.” The text of the song is from Exodus 15:20-21; the video was made in collaboration with The Layers Project blog, which chronicles the stories of contemporary Jewish women.
