This Is Sarah Jessica Parker’s First Starring TV Role in More Than a Decade

For the first time in over a decade, Sarah Jessica Parker, of “Sex and the City” fame, is returning to TV as a main character. She will now star in HBO’s “Divorce,” as Frances, a woman who asks her husband Robert for a divorce, much to his surprise. What happens after is what’s hardly ever shown on TV: a messy, complicated, and long-awaited separation.

The show will air on HBO this fall as a half-hour comedy. I’m sure we won’t be quite as jealous of Frances’ city wardrobe and adventures like we were for Carrie Bradshaw, but it will be nice to see Parker in a different type of role.
