The couple, who have been married for 10 years, named their son Beau Dean McDermott. It seems the name is definitely a nod to Beau’s dad. The 43-year-old actress told People that she feels very lucky:
“We are over the moon in love with baby Beau. He is a true blessing and his brothers and sisters were overjoyed to meet him! We are all truly grateful for our big beautiful and healthy family.”
Beau joins his four other siblings, 4-year-old Finn, 5-year-old Hattie, 8-year-old Stella, and 9-year-old Liam, as well as 18-year-old Jack, who is McDermott’s son from a previous relationship. Apparently, Spelling’s birth went smoothly. Previously, she explained how surprised she was by this pregnancy, although she couldn’t have been more thrilled since having a big family is her dream:
“It was a total surprise. But we always wanted a big family. I’m really excited.
Dean was saying, ‘We just got Finn out of diapers; I thought we were in the clear!’ For the first time this year, they’re all in school. So it’s like, wow. We’re basically starting over.
This baby happened at the best time. Nothing is ever perfect, but I’m so madly in love with my husband and with our kids. The idea of adding to that is such a blessing.”
Mazel tov to the happy family!
