I don’t know about you, but I think pregnancy is pretty crazy. Obviously, it goes without saying that it’s probably the most beautiful thing to happen on this planet–but it’s also strangely otherworldly–or as I like to think, something out of “The X-Files.”
Recently, something absolutely breathtaking happened at Royal Sussex Hospital in Brighton, England. A doctor successfully performed an external cephalic version (ECV), which is a procedure that turns a breech fetus so that it faces head-down. What makes it so amazing is the fact that it only took the doctor under three minutes to do it.
The doctor calmly warns the 36-week-pregnant mom that it will be uncomfortable, saying, “If you cannot tolerate it, just say so.”
Then he starts rotating the unborn baby very slowly. As he finishes the procedure, the mom begins to laugh, and remarked that “it felt funny.”
What is most incredible for me to watch is the fact that you can actually SEE the baby moving in her stomach.
