Well, somebody send help, because Rosh Hashanah is coming up on the evening of Sept. 22 and I feel woefully unprepared. The good news is that it’s still not too late (at least at the time of this writing) to order your Rosh Hashanah meal from Goldbelly or some very iconic New York institutions. And if you’ve mostly got it, you can still get some help for challah and dessert from some of the best bakeries around.
Here are some of my personal favorite picks of food that you can order online for Rosh Hashanah.

Want to outsource your appetizers and also offer your guests a taste of one of the finest Jewish restaurants in the country? Try this salatim spread that includes hummus, beets with tehina, pickled cabbage, Moroccan carrots, spicy fennel, twice-cooked eggplant, green beans, schug, harissa and 12 pitas. Delish.

A decadent deli Rosh Hashanah dinner all the way from Texas! The filling meal includes brisket or stuffed cabbage (or a mix of the two) for main, and a side of either noodle kugel or carrot soufflé, along with classic tzimmes, chopped liver and matzah ball soup with matzah balls. What else do you need?

I am totally tempted to get my entire Rosh Hashanah meal from this iconic New York Ukrainian establishment. Or at least to order an under the sukkah meal of pierogis. This dinner includes soup, a main dish of your choice, 24 pierogis and a lot of delicious add-on options.

I think I've found the cutest Rosh Hashanah dessert around.

Russ and Daughters' rugelach may be my very favorite.

Are you vegan? Do you have vegan guests who you want to feel extra special? Then get them some delicious dishes from the Chicago goddess of Rosh Hashanah and Passover herself.

You can still get your Rosh Hashanah dinner from Katz's Deli. Do I need to say more? Of course you'll have what she's having!

Since this list is already full of New York institutions, I feel obligated to let you know that you can also order your Rosh Hashanah meal from the one and only Zabar's.

Their savory stuff is amazing, but I have to say I will be fantasizing about this gift crate of Rosh Hashanah dessert goodies from Zabar's until at least the end of the High Holidays.
