The Kid-Dish: Introducing Alef Portman Millepied…?

All the Jewish celebrity parent gossip you (n)ever wanted to know

- Big, as-of-yet-to-be-totally-confirmed news: we have a name for the Portman-Millepied baby! If popular Israeli TV show “Good Evening with Guy Pines” (and yes, that last name is pronounced like the certain body part that we still don’t know whether this baby has had circumcised or not) is to be believed, the baby of the hour is named Alef Portman Millepied. That’s Alef, like the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. So, thoughts? Cunning remarks? Witty jokes? Let’s hear them. (Huffington Post)

Tori Spelling took her kids to the farmer’s market in Malibu to prepare for the 4th. The kids, pictured above, then spent a lovely Independence Day at the beach. Stella is all like, “Whatchu looking at?” (Babyrazzi)

Woody Allen and his typical Jewish family, including wife Soon-Yi Prevan and daughters Bechet and Manzie, were seen shopping in Rome, where he’s filming his next movie, Bop Decameron. (Celebrity Baby Scoop)

- Stylish Jewish mom Sarah Jessica Parker tied for first place with Angelina Jolie on Forbes’ list of highest paid actresses this year. Parker brought in $30 million dollars between May of 2010 and May of 2011. (Popeater)

**UPDATE**

People.com is reporting that the name is spelled Aleph, though we still seem to lack an official confirmation from Ms. Portman herself. And as for the public’s reaction, a few choice twitters for you:

@TheChaviMonsterNatalie Portman only got to the first word of the baby name book!::Rimshot!::

@Dougwyman425: The good news – your mother is Natalie Portman. The bad news – your name is Aleph Millepied.

@KelliZink: I kind of like Natalie Portman’s baby name after I heard my co-workers pronounce it correctly
