Jewish Mom Sarah Jessica Parker Endorses BFF Cynthia Nixon for NY Governor

In an Instagram post Thursday morning, Sarah Jessica Parker finally endorsed her former Sex and the City co-star Cynthia Nixon for New York State governor.

In the caption, she wrote, “My sister on and off screen, you have my love, support and vote.”

Many other former Sex and the City stars have already given Cynthia their support; Kristin Davis (Charlotte) and David Eigenberg (who played Miranda’s husband, Steve). Meanwhile, Kim Cattrall (Samantha) is refusing to give an endorsement,  cryptically tweeting, “I support & respect any former colleague’s right to make their own career choices.”

It’s strange it took Parker (Carrie) this long to endorse Nixon (Miranda); they have a ton in common besides their history on Sex and the City. Parker is a Jewish mom of three, and Nixon (who is not Jewish but is a member of Congregation Beit Simchat Torah), is also the mother of Jewish kids.

What is interesting about today’s endorsement is that, as of yesterday, Parker hadn’t decided whether or not she was going to support her pal’s campaign. As Page Six reported, through her spokeswoman, SJP said “Cynthia has been my friend and colleague since we were little girls. I look forward to talking to her about her New York state gubernatorial bid.”

Guess they talked last night!
