Purim is right around the corner, starting the evening of March 23. It’s one of our favorite Jewish holidays of the year, because you get to wear costumes (and really, who doesn’t love that?) and you’re actually supposed to drink (it’s a mitzvah!). To get in the spirit, we’re hosting a Purim mishloah manot giveaway for three lucky winners! If you aren’t sure what a mishloah manot actually is, don’t worry. We got you covered.
Part of the Purim tradition is to give food gifts, called mishloah manot, to friends and family. Why? While Purim has some somber origins, considering it’s all about the near-destruction of the Jewish people as decreed by Haman, an adviser to the Persian King Ahashuerus, there was a happy ending because of one tiny catch.
That catch? Ahashuerus’ new queen, Esther, was secretly a Jew. Hence, the holiday of disguises was born, and gifts are given to celebrate Esther. What makes this particular mishloah manot so awesome is the fact that there’s TWO gift boxes included, not just one. This means whoever you give this box to can continue the mitzvah and give the second box to someone else.
In order to win, please enter below by next Tuesday, March 8th. We will be selecting three random winners for the prize. Good luck, and happy Purim!
