The 10 Best Hanukkah TV Shows & Skits to Stream

Since Hanukkah is amost here, we decided to round up some of our favorite Hanukkah TV shows, skits, and other fun animated features that you can watch over and over again with your family. Did your favorites make the list?

1. “The League” — “The 8 Defensive Points Of Hanukkah”

This was a comedy show based on a group of friends who bonded over their fantasy football teams. It aired between 2009 and 2015. This episode will leave you in stitches because you’ll be laughing and cringing so hard.

2. “The O.C.” — “The Best Chrismukkah Ever”

“The O.C.” created what is the best term for anyone growing up in a multi-faith family, specifically Christian and Jewish: Chrismukkah. Everyone who has celebrated both with their families (or friends) will totally get this episode. Also, Adam Brody — swoon.

3. “Saturday Night Live” — “The Night Hanukkah Harry Saved Christmas”

Who doesn’t love Hanukkah Harry? This classic “SNL” sketch (courtesy of The Chinese Quest) never gets old — and Jon Lovitz kills it when he says this line you may love/hate, “Christians and Jews…are pretty much the same.”

4. “The Nanny” — “The Hanukkah Story”

I was all about “The Nanny” growing up. Honestly, I’m still all about it. Fran Drescher is life. When it comes to the show’s version of Hanukkah, you have to love when their car oil lasts eight hours instead of one.

5. “Eight Crazy Nights”

This isn’t a TV episode, but an animated movie, written and starring Adam Sandler, who seems to love Hanukkah more than anything. It’s a 2002 comedy-drama film focusing on Jewish characters during the Hanukkah season.

6. Adam Sandler’s Hanukkah songs

OK, OK, this is also not strictly TV, but this list would be remiss not to include these classics. And there’s a lot of them (since he updates them every so often with current celebrity gossip).

Neil Diamond liked it so much, he even did a cover of it:

7. Rugrats — “Rugrats Hanukkah”

The “Rugrats” Hanukkah special is probably the most well-known Hanukkah TV show episode for kids out there — and probably one of the most successful. We even wrote about all the fun things you may not have noticed during the episode (which retells the story with all our favorite babies, like Chuckie), which you can read here.

8. Even Stevens — “Heck Of A Hanukkah”

Louis is determined to find his presents in the days leading up to Hanukkah. But of course, there’s a lot of drama that ensues.

9. Soren and Jolles — “If Christmas & Chanukah Were People”

To illustrate this holiday disparity, Comedy duo Soren and Jolles created a video in which Christmas and Hanukkah are real people in your lives. It’s hilarious.

10. Yidlife Crisis — “Crisismukkah”

“Yidlife Crisis” is a web series created by Eli Batalion and Jamie Elman, who play Leizer and Chaimie respectively. In this episode, they reinvent some of the Christmas classics into Yiddish specials, like “Yingl Belz,” “Little Drummer Boychick,” and “Oh Ye Chanukkah.” It’s pretty great.
