This Family’s Purim Song Is Too Real About the Trump/Haman Similarity

Every year, the Rosenblum family makes a parody music video of a popular song as a way to tell the story behind a Jewish holiday. In this case, they did one for Purim, mashing up Purim with the popular song “HandClap” by Fitz and the Tantrums.

Listening to the song makes apparent that connection and similarities between Haman and Trump–of course, it’s really just a lighthearted reference and parody of current events. But underneath that, there is a teachable moment to your kids. As much as Purim is a fun holiday (who doesn’t love candy and costumes?), it’s also a time to teach your kids about dictatorships, oppression of marginalized people, racism, and anti-Semitism.

Enjoy the song below—good luck getting it out of your head!
