This Is What a $6,000 Kid’s Dress Looks Like

Yes, a $6,000 dress for kids exists. Let’s pretend for a second that young children don’t grow exponentially on an hourly basis–if you want your kid to dress in style and make Anna Wintour proud, forget spending your money on fruits and vegetables (well, actually, please don’t) and get this dress instead.

Balmain just launched a children’s line, and one of the chicest pieces is an embroidered black dress for kids ages 6-14. The hitch: It’s $5,950. No big deal, right?! Your kid can’t be seen at their next playdate or school dance in anything less. And God forbid they wear it twice.

“These are the same looks that, over the years, moms and dads have repeatedly pleaded with me to produce for their kids.”

But don’t fret. If you can’t afford a few grand for some black fabric (I mean, honestly, you could probably just sew some cool jewels on a simple black dress yourself) you could buy your kid the $205 sleeveless t-shirt instead. But hey, why not take out another mortgage on your house for fashion? Fashion is pain, so I’m told.

The collection is reported to debut in June.
