It’s scary to leave your kid in the care of someone else — all the while hoping beyond hope that nothing goes wrong. Well, one nanny proved herself a superhero when a thief got more than she bargained for.
Last week in Everett, Washington, nanny Kate Anderson was watching a 1-year-old baby inside the home of the family she works for when she saw something unusual. A woman hopping out of the passenger seat of a car, heading toward the house and then heading back to the car with a large package.
Luckily, Anderson thought fast and ran down the driveway, and managed to tackle the intruder while shouting for help. All of this, thankfully, was seen on a surveillance tape in the family’s driveway.
You can hear Anderson calling out, “What the f*ck are you doing? What are you trying to steal?”
The woman tries to quietly run back to the car, but she falls while getting in — and then the car leaves without her. That’s when Anderson tackles her. The thief was later identified as 29-year-old Rhieanna Schindler, who had an outstanding warrant and a history of arrests, according to ABC station KIRO.
Anderson told Fox station Q13 that she is “not afraid to put them in check.” Clearly. Meanwhile, the homeowner, Tanya Smith, told KIRO that Anderson is “amazing and doesn’t take any crap from anybody.” Anderson went on to say that the whole situation was “very intense.”
We’re just glad everyone is OK and that no one got hurt.
