We Have a ‘Nobody Wants This’ Season Two Release Date!

We're excited for this post-High Holidays treat.

We finally know when TV’s hottest rabbi comes back to the bimah! This weekend, Netflix shared a sweet video of the cast of “Nobody Wants This” in which they used a very Jewish Magic 8 Ball to announce the release date of season two of the hit show.

The show is coming back to us as a post-High Holidays treat on Oct. 23 — a perfect reward for all the work that comes around the most holy Jewish time of the year!

The cast also asked our most pressing questions about season two and the 8 Ball has some pretty hilarious answers. I think I need a “Nobody Wants This” 8 Ball stat. So what can we expect from Rabbi Noah (Adam Brody) and Joanne (Kristin Bell), the hot blonde “shiksa” he fell in love with last season? And what about the rest of the gang, too?

To whether or not Joanne will convert, the 8 Ball answered “matzah balls!” which could either be a positive or a negative. It was a lot less positive about whether the Matzah Ballers, Rabbi Noah’s JCC basketball team, would make it to the playoffs, responding with a: “try again loser.”

And of course, as any Jewish 8 Ball should, it told the cast to “call your mother” in response to whether or not we’ll get another iconic kiss this season, like the scorching one between Joanne and Noah that we’re still fanning ourselves over. Timothy Simons, who plays Noah’s brother Sasha, joked that the answer means that their onscreen mom, Bina (Tovah Feldshuh) will be the one at the center of this season’s most dreamy make out sesh, and honestly, as a fellow Jewish mother, I love that for her — get it Bina!

The Magic 8 Ball also responded with a “mazel tov” when asked if Justine Lupe’s Morgan, Joanne’s sister who had a (very terrifying to viewers everywhere) flirtation with Sasha in the first season, will finally get a less scary love interest. We already know of two new cast members who may or may not be good matches for Morgan — Miles Fowler will play a Ballers teammate who gets set up with Morgan, while “Succession”‘s Arian Moayed will play the very full of himself Dr. Andy, a “psychotherapist who might just be the perfect match for Joanne’s sister Morgan,” according to Deadline.

Also joining this season is Adam Brody’s real-life wife, “Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester, who will play Abby, Joanne’s middle-school-nemesis-turned-mom-influencer. Jewish “Girls” star Alex Karpovsky will play “Big Noah” who, according to Deadline, is “an overly confident rabbi at Noah’s (Adam Brody) temple.” Truly excited to see Karpovsky and Brody play off each other in this battle of the rabbis!

The 8 Ball also accurately answers Jackie Tohn’s question about whether her character Esther — Sasha’s wife — forgives her husband for his almost-line-crossing friendship with Morgan. “Everybody wants this,” it responded, and I have to agree.

And of course, even though Jewish viewers predictably had a lot of complicated opinions about the first season of “Nobody Wants This,” I do feel like everybody wants another season of this oh-so-watchable, laugh-out-loud funny, memeable and incredibly romantic show. I can’t wait.
