This Cover of Matisyahu’s ‘Happy Hanukkah’ Makes Us So Happy

You may know the Canadian band Walk Off the Earth from their incredibly viral 2012 cover of Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used to Know” that featured all five members of the group jamming and singing on a single guitar.

Since then, they’ve created many other epic covers, though their version of Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” is seriously the best. Not only are the members of Walk Off the Earth incredible musicians, but apparently they’re clever, too: Though they’re not a Jewish group, they clearly caught onto the viral video phenomenon that is the Hanukkah music video.

On their recent holiday album, Walk Off the Earth covers Matisyahu’s “Happy Hanukkah.” Naturally, they released a video, too. The band is joined by Canadian musician Scott Helman, a 23-year-old singer-songwriter who is the son of British Jewish immigrants.  So far as we know, Helman is the only member of the tribe in the video!

The colorful clip hews closely to the Matisyahu original. Watching it will make your Hanukkah a hundred times happier, we promise!
