Passover is nearly here! And if you’ve been anxiously awaiting a fresh new parody video to celebrate, Jewish a cappella group Six13 — the singers who brought us the recent Hanukkah hit, “Bohemian Chanukah” — has got you covered.
This years’ tune is “A Lion King Passover,” and it’s a medley of songs from the Disney animated movie-turned-Broadway show (and soon to be live action film). It’s got pretty much everything you’d expect: catchy, Jewy lyrics (“I’m eating a matzah!” subs quite nicely for “Hakuna matata!”); slightly silly costumes; top-notch singing and smiles all around.
