You Can Now Watch Netflix Without an Internet Connection Because Sometimes Life Is Magical

Netflix is literally magic incarnated–it’s like a gift straight from some other world. For many parents, that’s really how it feels–whether it’s helped you out while you’re trying to pee, clean the house, or get through a five hour car ride. There’s nothing like accessible TV and movies on the go.

Well, it’s about to get even better, and right in time for your holiday travels. It’s a Hanukkah miracle. Netflix is now offering downloads of select shows, so you can watch them without an Internet connection. Um, yes. Talk about magic.

In a statement, Netflix explained the new feature:

“While many members enjoy watching Netflix at home, we’ve often heard they also want to continue their ‘Stranger Things’ binge while on airplanes and other places where Internet is expensive or limited. Just click the download button on the details page for a film or TV series and you can watch it later without an Internet connection.”

As of now, however, this option is limited to only Netflix-produced shows, like “Orange Is the New Black,” “Stranger Things,” “The Crown,” and “Word Party,” “Beat Bugs,” and “Puffin Rock.” Netflix claims this will change soon, though. Either way, I’m about this.

So, how do you actually get the magical goodness? You need to first download the app, look up the show you want, and then hit the download button. It’s pretty easy. What’s even better, it’s at no extra cost on all payment plans and available for phones and tablets on Android and iOS.

Need to travel to bubbe’s house for Hanukkah? Don’t worry, that schlep is about to get easier.
