Andy Cohen’s adorable son, Benjamin Allen (AKA baby Ben AKA the cutest Jewish baby alive) just turned 1. Honestly, where did the time go?!?
The Bravo TV host posted a heartfelt message on Instagram to celebrate this milestone, accompanied by a throwback picture of Cohen with his newborn son in the hospital room, taken by his BFF, Jewish musician John Mayer.
“One year ago tonight,” Cohen wrote, “I sat alone in a hospital room with my newborn son pondering our future. I didn’t know then how his smile would brighten my day, what simple joy each new progression of his growth would bring, and most of all what a lovely boy he would become. I am so grateful to my surrogate in California who made this all possible, and for every day of our first year… and can’t wait for the next. Happy Birthday sweet little Ben.”
Aw, we’re getting a little verklempt over here. Happy birthday, sweet bub! We so love Cohen for always thanking his surrogate, and we’re so moved by his candor and how he authentically shares his experience as a parent.
Cohen celebrated Ben’s birthday, which was on February 4 (at 6:35 PM, to be exact!) with a Super Bowl party with the Watch What Happens Live team. There was singing, a rainbow cake, and a hand-embroidered birthday shirt for Ben. Plus, as Cohen said, the guest of honor “was downstairs from 4:30pm until 7:30, being passed around from person to person — didn’t flinch.” What an angel!
“It was nice, it was a great party. I had family, I had friends. It was lovely,” he concluded. Aw. Watch everyone singing happy birthday to a beaming Ben and feel your heart melt:
